He began by saying, "Forget you have ever read Kant." And my heart broke a little. Then he said, "How can we make this a little more English?"
Later, I waited for the results of my biopsy (for naught -- dumb curly haired doctor never called) and tutored a 17 year old girl with a tee shirt sporting the phrase "finger lickin good" on it. this girl has absolutely no desire to get her five failing grades up to passing by quarter's end, but her mom is desperate, and im pretty excited about helping her make a brochure of "jane austen's england" for her stupid class project. the mom can't speak english well, so she expressed her frustration with the daughter by saying "my head is falling out about her." made a lot of sense to me. something else falling out was a picture of this girl and her boyfriend -- out from her signet classics copy of pride and prejudice. the boyfriend was big and had his hand up my tutoree's shorts. i asked her to take her adolescent sex out from between the pages of jane austen. that and the $5 she was using as a bookmark.

at the office of graduate studies with my advancement form. ah, quiz farm, you *do* know there is a difference between a Romantic and a Romanticist, dontcha? or do you, like my advisor, believe that a Romanticist cannot be a Postmodernist without being so 1982 and therefore unemployable? I have had all the theory bashing I can take for one day, so I am happy to be this ghosted face.
